A to Z Devotion: B is for Beauty

"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30

I am not a froufrou, high-maintenance woman. I'm more an outdoorsy-sneakers-ponytail-and-ballcap-type who doesn't mind hard work and digging in the dirt, so beauty and feminine wiles have never played a major role in my life. 

So, what speaks to me most from Proverbs 31:30 is that what is endearing and beautiful to God is "a woman who fears the LORD". Devoting myself to the Lord, revering Him, loving Him with all my heart, trusting in Him, obeying and submitting to Him, relying on Him for all things -- these are praise-worthy...these things make me beautiful.
