Those are some helpful tips you shared Dawn. Although I am not too sure how I feel about linking your comment back to your blog since your profile typically links back to it. But I do use comment luv on my blog which serves as way to help promote my commentors blog.
Wanda, Not all profiles link back, I've found, and even if it does, it just makes it quicker (and other readers sometimes click too!). The one possible bad side to using it, someone told me, is the comment could go straight to spam. I have never had that happen to one's one my site though.
Shelly, Don't panic! The comics will come back! I have them spread sporadically through A to Z. I couldn't do comics for the whole challenge...too time-consuming!
Dawn, great idea about addressing the comment to a specific person! I never thought of that!
Brianna @ BibleBloggers (#510 on the A-Z list) and @ 1st Writes (My Writer's Group Blog, #517 on the A-Z list) and finally @ Pocketful of Playdough (My regular Blog, not on the A-Z list)
Great tips. I do like it when people leave their link in the comment, but I also feel its redundant if you already have your profile link to your blog.
Laura, Yes, it is redundant, but I may not know that the profile even has a link to their blog (some don't), so I'd be more likely to click the link in the comment. Hmmmm....that makes me sound lazy.
Hey Dawn! Glad to know I was mostly doing it right! just was too lazy to look at the name of the blogger...I know awful of me..hehe! Great tips...can't wait to read more! Good luck with the rest of the challenge!
Great tips, Dawn! I have to say that comments really are addicting and I like checking to see if someone has posted on my blog. Someday they might have to have a Comment Addicted Anonymous (CAA) class.
Hi Dawn, thanks for the apt reminder. This commenting business is kind of the unwritten rule but everybody loves meaningful and sincere comments. Thanks for coming over to my blog!
This is me, Duncan D. Horne, visiting you from the A-Z challenge, wishing you all the best throughout April and beyond.
Thank you, Dawn. I have been learning so much reading through your blog. I've taken a couple year break from writing (severe writer's block) and I am so happy to have gotten back into it, as well as finding those who will help me improve my writing. Thank you so much :)
Blessings to you, Megan
http://heretofindhim.blogspot.com P.S. This is my blog. I tried using the html code and it didn't work for me. Oh well.
Megan, Just so you know, I am no means an expert in writing, but I love to read and learn and what I learn, I like to share. If I learned something important, I figure someone else might want to learn it too.
I'd love to be one of your encouragers. Stop by anytime.
Dawn, just so you know, I tried to use the html code and it didn't work for me either. I checked on bloggeruniversity and they had the code a bit different: Title I tried that and it worked. Some spaces were off, I guess. I enjoy your tips, too, and put you on my blog as a one to follow. :-) I love that you want to serve God with your work. Me too! God bless, Mare MyBlog

DeleteHi Dawn, I always try to say something constructive but there are times when just a "Great post" is enough to show someone you've been there.

ReplyDeleteKrista,
DeleteI know! I get addicted to comments too, especially during A to Z and then when it's over and the comments slow WAY down, I get depressed. LOL.
