Book Review: Hearing His Voice

“The One Year Hearing His Voice Devotional” by Chris Tiegreen is right where I am!

Overview (from Amazon):
This year, learn to listen for the voice of the One who loves you most. We know for sure that God speaks to His people. Throughout the pages of Scripture, time after time, He guides, instructs, corrects, inspires, encourages, and reveals. Inspired writers even call Him “the Word.” He has always been vocal, and He always will be.

But what does He say to you? How does He say it? How can you know when you’ve heard Him? In The One Year Hearing His Voice Devotional, Chris Tiegreen will help you discover patterns and practices you can adopt to hear God better. Listening to God is a process, a journey, and an adventure. He promises that those who seek Him will be rewarded with His presence and His voice. And the words of the living God are powerful and life-changing.

What I liked:
This devotion book has been great for me. I have been going deeper in my spiritual walk and have been hearing God speak and guide me. This book has helped me confirm things I’ve experienced (like hearing God’s still small voice). I also really like the “From The Heart Of God” pages that are as if God is speaking directly to the reader. I love that each devotion is a full page long (It has meat to it --no fluff). I like that a lot of the Scripture passages aren’t the well known ones that everyone quotes. I also like the short prayers that end each devo. They are bold and very helpful to me.

What I Didn’t like:
Nothing, so far! I've been reading it for a month and I love it!

Note: This book might not be for new believers, as it is deep, but it would be good for anyone who wants to hear God and who wants to seek Him with all their heart.

Disclaimer: I received this book from Tyndale (thank you!) in exchange for my honest review.
