Our youth pastor shared this story from his childhood church camp days. He saw a squirrel running and jumping from tree to tree and he thought, "What makes the squirrel so confident? Does it know that God made it to jump? Is that why it's not afraid to do what it was made to do?" Then he thought, "Where do I get my confidence from? Why don't I live the life God created me to live with confidence?"
Does this story speak to you about self-confidence vs. God-confidence? How? Is there a time when you were nudged by God to step out in faith?
Loved the thought about the squirrel jumping in confidence perhaps because of the absence of doubt - if God could only get us to move in the same way! Thanks for an inspiring thought for the day! Good luck on the Challenge!

Nice to meet you too! Thanks for stopping by and for hosting A to Z!
DeleteMaybe God created us all with the confidence levels that the squirrels have so that we could do exactly what he had made us capable of doing. Maybe it is all the bullying, the negative stereotyping, the rude humans among us who've created doubt in our minds!
ReplyDeleteJust a thought :)
S. Ali, Yes, maybe you are correct. We just need to get back to the God-Confidence we started with and be like little children! Thanks so much for your comment!
DeleteGod gave us confidence, but Satan provided our doubt. This story is a great reminder to put our trust in God and not rely on the fear and hesitancy that the world instills within us.
