Writing Exercise: Write one tip in the comments section that would be helpful for BlogWriters or BlogReaders.
My tip is below.
Be careful on the playground.
OK, that doesn't really apply or does it? Here's my translation:
Think before you click.
(I know this is not "blog" specific, but its always good to be reminded to be cautious on the internet. Cybercrime and malware are out there. Be careful where you go and make sure your computer is protected with anti-virus software.)
OK, your turn. Write your tip as a comment!
Well my tip wouldn't fit into your acrostic would be courtesy, which counts for a lot in terms of commenting and following up on comments too. :O)
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree, Madeleine! It is courtesy, as well, as getting to know new friends.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog, and I love the blog tips too.
ReplyDeleteI love your tip!!!
ReplyDeleteMy tip would be: keep it short and simple.
I break that rule all the time, but that's how I've learned how deadly lenghty, overdone posts can be . . . and obviously comments too.
I'd say keep it positive. :) Speaking of which, thanks for your nice comment on my post!
ReplyDeleteStill feeling my way through being a blogger, so not confindent to offer tips - I do agree with Madeleine, though, about courtesy being important. Many thanks for all the other tips - learning all the time :-)
ReplyDeleteAll best

Your blog is adorable. I was reading your profile, and I love the Peter & the Starcatchers too! Small world. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are fun! I've been working on the A-Z challenge too, and the tip I would add is Make it easy to comment, that is, please turn off word verifications! ;) They drive me crazy.

Great post. My tip: Add a picture or two to bring a post to life. It's also a nice visual break instead of viewing a blog that's all text.
ReplyDeleteAll, great tips! Thank you for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteMy tip: Avoid overloading the page with animated/interactive stuff that plugs up a browsers speed.
ReplyDeleteI'm visiting via the A-Z hop. Nice to meet you. I'm stop #881 on the list. :)
Be honest.
ReplyDeleteI love to read the blogs of those who aren't afraid of being honest--like The Write Soil and Pocketful of Playdough.
Thanks for this exercise, Dawn! Great interactive prompt.
I just read this tip from Judy Dunn -
ReplyDeleteDance like no one is watching; Blog like everyone is
I think it's a good one.
Michelle, So true! I don't like it when the page takes long to load.
ReplyDeletePam and Brianna, Good ones. I like the honesty b/c you learn a lot about a person. I like blog like everyone is watching...helps me double-check before posting!
My only tip is blog about what you love, not what you think your readers will want to read.
ReplyDeleteWhen you're blogging about a topic you love, the writing reflects it, and you attract the readers who love what you're blogging about.

Matt, you are so right. No one wants boring posts. If you are passionate about what you are doing, it will show!
ReplyDeleteVery good tip! My blogging tip would be to "be yourself" and not try to fabricate a voice for your blog. If you present the real "you", your followers will turn into friends.
ReplyDeleteseptembermom...thank you for your comment. I believe that too.
ReplyDeleteMy blogging tip would be to be consistent. That way your audience will know when they can expect your posts, and they don't forget about you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog!
When it comes to blogging, stay true to yourself, dont try and be like another blog you have seen, or write about things that you arent passionate about. Great discussion.
ReplyDeleteI'm always looking for advise on how to be the best blogger I can be. I agree with the keeping it short and simple , and if your post is especially lengthy, highlight the points that are of particular interest.
ReplyDeleteFound your blog via the A-Z challenge. Following you. =) Stop in and say "hi" sometime.
