“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every
situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to
God. And the peace of God, which transcends
all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7
You’ve probably heard this passage many times, but today focus
on “Guard your heart and your mind in Jesus”. Does this have special meaning to
you? Why would you need to guard them? Who can
you go to for help in guarding them? How can “peace” guard?
Take some deep breaths as you pray, asking God to
cover you in His peace (and guard you).
Lord, Guard us. Protect us from evil. Pour over us the peace that
passes all understanding. Make your presence known to us today in a very real
way. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Have you had to "guard your heart and mind"?
