Small Seed for 1-20-15

What's Your Personal Mission?

"That God is on one side and all the people on the other side, and Christ Jesus, himself man, is between them to bring them together, by giving his life for all mankind.

This is the message that at the proper time God gave to the world. And I have been chosen—this is the absolute truth—as God’s minister and missionary to teach this truth to the Gentiles and to show them God’s plan of salvation through faith.” 1 Timothy 2:5-7 (TLB)
Paul knew with “absolute truth” that God chose him to preach to the Gentiles. He knew his life-long mission. What about me? God has had me do some amazing things (drama, writing Bible Studies, leading, working with women, children, and teens, etc.), but I am in a lull right now, waiting for God to tell me what to do next. Even if I don’t know exactly what my next assignment will be, I do know that I am to continue to point people to Jesus as our savior (v. 5). I can do that through my words, behaviors, and actions.

Father, help me to be light in a dark world. Help me to help others know the truth and find You. Amen.

What are some personal missions God has given you to do in the past?

  1. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a note in my comment box.

You ask about personal missions that He's given me. A couple include: writing letters and notes to people as encouragement (particularly when I feel His heart to do so); praying for people either with them in person or as they come to mind; walking in love -- loving Him with all my heart, loving myself, loving my neighbor (whoever is nearby at the time).

Wishing you glimpses of heaven in unexpected places...

    1. Brenda, I write letters and cards too! Encouragement is one of my gifts, as well. Thank you for sharing how God is using you to minister to others. Blessings to you.

    1. Pam, I saw you wrote about starting up a new writing group. Do you think that is His call for you right now?
