Small Seed for 2-6-15

Love Conquers Boredom, Dullness, and Indifference.

"And we are anxious that you keep right on loving others as long as life lasts, so that you will get your full reward. Then, knowing what lies ahead for you, you won’t become bored with being a Christian nor become spiritually dull and indifferent, but you will be anxious to follow the example of those who receive all that God has promised them because of their strong faith and patience.” Hebrews 6:11-12 (TLB)

These words have been on my heart lately for the American Church:

*Bored
*Spiritually dull
*Indifferent

I know God has big plans for the Church. He wants to wake us up. He wants us to love people. He wants us to step out in faith.

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” James 1:22

It’s hard to get bored when you’re doing something. It’s hard to be indifferent when you see first-hand suffering or poverty. It’s hard to be spiritually dull when you are reading the Bible and praying daily and falling in love with God. The term, Love Conquers All...is true. When you love someone, you show it, you do something. Love can conquer boredom, dullness, and indifference.

Rate yourself:

Bored --------------------------------------- Excited

Dull ------------------------------------------- Sharp

Indifferent ------------------------------Interested/Concerned

How can we battle boredom, dullness, and indifference? What specifically can we do to love?
