Verbose -
able to let loose with more words than necessary
Editors say cut, cut, cut, but the words say no, no, no! It's so hard to delete words. I wrote them, so they must be important, right? Wrong. Keep the essentials, but kick the rest.
How do you combat wordiness?
Writing poetry helps me. Poetry gives me practice picking just the right words.
Lately my problem has been I edit out three words and end up adding seven! Can't figure out how that is happening! LOL!
ReplyDeletePam, Oh, that's funny and so true!
DeleteI agree with Pam. I have so much to say and nobody wants to hear it all. Self-editing is the hardest part!
ReplyDeleteJoan, It really is.
Deletei can't imagine....i never had enough words back in school essays, I used big font!
ReplyDeleteJette, but you are an artist. You have lots of drawings. ;0)
