SPECIAL NEWS BULLETIN....ARLEE BIRD, FOUNDER OF A TO Z BLOGGING CHALLENGE, HAS A BIRTHDAY TODAY (NO APRIL FOOL'S!)
I've just finished a book that arrested my attention: BuddaDa by Anne Donovan. It was an absolute cracker of a book. Excellent theme, Dawn, looking forward to reading the rest :)
ReplyDeleteCatherine, Thanks so much for leaving a comment! I’ll look up that book. I hope to stop by your blog tomorrow!
DeleteI have read several. Too many to list. I love your theme and look forward to reading more.

Denise, I love good books! Can’t wait to visit your blog – I love the name of it! I need organization and inspiration. I love you already!
DeleteToo many to list as well, but Flowers From The Storm by Laura Kinsale comes to mind, as does the Mckenzie Series by Linda Howard.
ReplyDeleteJianne, Thanks for visiting! I have not read from these two authors. Will need to look them up. Thanks, again!
DeleteLOVE the picture! This post reminds me that I need to pick up a good book!
ReplyDeleteBrianna, I had so much fun with the photos and blurbs! It was totally fun!
DeleteI love Lee Child's Jack Reacher books, but pretty much anything I start reading and enjoy has to be finished before I can do anything else.
ReplyDeleteKirsten, I only read one book at a time too. I just love it when I can’t put it down! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteThe Michelli Family Series by Author Kristen Heitzmann, (Secrets, Unforgotten, and Echoes) really kept me glued to the page.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I love a good read!
DeleteThat was one of my books in your picture. I'm sure it was. Wasn't it? Maybe? Hmmm. Anyway, great to meet you in the A-Z. I'm often glued to books, so I loved the post.
ReplyDeleteC., Big grin! I’ve not read your books, but I am sure they are “arresting”. Thank you for leaving a comment and for making me smile.
DeleteFellow A-Z challenger stopping by to say hello. Let's see, the last book I read and could not put down had to be Henry Franks by Peter Salomon. I have not read Bloody jack yet, but it is on my TBR list!
ReplyDeleteTrisha, you will love Bloody Jack. I think I’m on book 6 now in the series! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
DeleteI've found those--to the detriment of my sleep hours! I'm also an A-Z challenger stopping by.
ReplyDeleteSue Ann, Bloody Jack?! If so, they are hard to put down! Thanks for visiting!

Stopping by from the A-Z Challenge. Thank you for the quote on your other blog. I copied it--I needed to read those words.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Thank you for stopping by both blogs. Have fun A to Z’ing!
DeleteI love books I just can't put down! The last one I read like that was "From the Ashes" by Jessica McKendry - I hated having to go to bed! :)
ReplyDeleteKrista, Yeah, who needs sleep, right? LOL. Have fun with A to Z.
DeletePride & Prejudice was a real page turner for me. Finished it in something like 9 hours :P
ReplyDeleteI'm finally doing A-Z. It's about time :)
Hi Samantha, yeah for doing the A to Z! Hope all is going well with you. I’ve never read Pride & Prejudice, but it is my favorite movie of all time (the one with Colin Firth). :0)

ReplyDeleteThat really is the trick, isn't it? Finding the right balance between giving the reader enough to go on and boring them to death.
Fortunately, most readers seem to feel obligated to finish books even if they are not thrilled with them.
I was a big fan of Robert B. Parker. Certainly not high-brow literature by any means, but his sparse prose style and witty dialogue always made his books an easy and enjoyable read.
LC
LC, Yes you are right. For me, it’s not that I feel obligated to finish a mediocre book, it’s the hope that the book will get better. It usually doesn’t and then I think of all the time I’ve wasted. Thanks for your comment!
Deleteso true! though i sometimes continue reading a book even if i no longer find it arresting. :) i just want to know how it ended. lol.
ReplyDeletethanks for dropping by my a-z post!
Me too, but I'm not happy about it. I just keep hoping the book will get better. Usually it doesn't.
